I am thrilled to have been invited to do a session at the 2013 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, IN. My session will be a clinic/performance on the EMvibe. My session will take place at 1pm on Friday 11/15.
I am excited to be presenting Sleight, a new solo for EMvibe, as part of UNC Greensboro’s New Music Festival. The concert will be at 7pm in the Weatherspoon Art Museum on UNCG’s campus.
Thanks to Mark Engebretson for inviting me to be part of this festival!
A great article by Kurt Gartner about the EMvibe appeared in the September 2013 Percussive Notes. The article is ostensibly a preview of my upcoming PASIC session, but it’s also a good introduction to the EMvibe project and how I have been approaching it.
People outside of the PAS community can read the article online here. I really appreciate Kurt’s intrest in the project and his taking the time to talk to me about it. And by the way, yours truly made the cover of this issue!
